DEEVALI- THE FEAST OF LIGHT.....

There are many mythologies and stories about Deevali
Some of them are following

1. The triumphant return of Lord Rama and his consort Sita to Ayodhya after the annihilation of demon king Ravana in Sri Lanka. The occasion is symbolized by lighting rows of earthen lamps in front of the house, and on the balconies in order to welcome Lord Rama and Mother Sita back home. People living in North India associate deepavali with this story.

2. Deepavali also has got another story which goes something like this, that the victory of Lord Krishna and his wife Satyabhama. Krishna vanquishes the demon Narakasura, who was a heartless tyrant. After the death of the demon king, his mother prayed to Lord Krishna that her son’s death might be remembered by all the people in the world as victory of the good over the evil.

3. In some part of the country this festival is celebrated as worship of Goddess Lakshmi with the belief that on this day she would be in her benevolent mood and fulfill the wishes of her devotees. Because she is the goddess of wealth. And also this festival is celebrated as Kali Puja and a special all night vigil is observed with devotional music and worship to mother of the Universe.
the stories are taken from "The New Leader".
DEEVALI is celebrated to show the victory of light over darkness or truth's victory over lie or life over death and so on. That is shown in the fire works. Whole of the atmosphere would be a mess of dust and smoke and fire and so all are happy and celebrate it. most of the north India would be celebrating it even without looking the religion and cast and color and so all are really happy.

DEEVALI is one of the most celebrated feasts of India and we in our community too had some celebrations
