On Saturday was one of the priestly ordinations in the diocese of Cochin . I had participated in the ordination ceremony. In the history of the diocese of Cochin , it is the largest number of priest being ordained in the diocese. This year it has been 16 candidates being ordained and three of them are still remained to get ordained. So this is going to be the largest number of people getting ordained for the diocese.
On Sunday was the final profession of two sisters from the congregation of Victorians. Since there is no bus connection between our village and the village called Chellanam the students had to leave the house around 12.30 so that they would come there for the programs at least around 3 in the noon. So they had to walk a long distance. The ceremony was good and meaningful. The bishop gave a homily, which was very good. He said about the history of Our Lady of Victory, the importance of the following of Jesus and about the three vows and things related to it. It was wonderful. Then a beautiful agape. We had booked a van to come to pick us fathers and some of the professed members, but then the van could not come on time. So we got a car that was ready to go somewhere, the man dropped us for the function. On the way back, since the fathers from aluva was there, they dropped us back here in the community. I could also meet some of the fathers after a long time. On the Ordination day I met with one priest who was our guide while I was in the minor seminary. I could see another father, who was the prefect while I was in my first year of seminary life in Mount Carmel Petit seminary here in Fort Cochin . I could meet another priest with whom I lived here in cochin for one and half month for parish experience. It was wonderful.
On these both programs I was thinking about my own final profession and ordination. Nice to think about it.
