Mahatma’s belongings

Yesterday, there was supposed to be an auction of the belongings of the Father of the Nation- mahatma Gandhi in New York. But the government of India was against it, for the Indian government wanted the belonging to be given back to India.

Just my thinking goes like this. A nation which has lost the teaching of such a great man, does it require the “relics” of Him. The government and concerned authority should worry more about the person and his teaching than about his belonging. If the country would have practised what this man taught us, the belonging would have been already ours. If his teaching would have been practised India, in his own ground -Gujarat – would not have seen such a bloody incident. If the government of India would have worried about Gandhi Orissa would not have seen such a blood incident last year. Or India would have been a different country in the world if we would have worried about Gandhi than about his belongings.
