Happiness and success
Happiness and success are two things, which happen, in our daily wishes to others. But really what is happiness? And what is success?
Happiness:
The word happiness itself is a “happy” expression for the one who hear it. But actually what is it? It is a joyful experience. And it also the state where one is content about self and about others. And it is a stage of freedom and self-expression of freedom. But then we have to talk about freedom and what is freedom? The state of feeling bliss and joy is also the state of happiness. For example when person achieves what she or he was hoping and dreaming she or he is happy. But that does not mean that the fact that she or not he reached the point of his her dream there won’t be anymore problems. Rather the state of real happiness is a kind of craziness. Just being content even in the midst of darkness to feel the real joy and experience of happiness. And that’s the real happiness.
Just one example would make it clearer. That is when two intimate persons are talking and al of a sudden the power goes, and its fully dark in between them. But both of them are aware that they are so close to each other. But they do not touch each other or do not hear. But they both are able to feel and know each other without any medium. If the one is able to feel it then that’s the real happiness. That means even in the midst of “darkness” if one is able to feel and know and smile in the “darkness” then that’s the real happiness.
When the wife is able to feel the love of the husband who is miles away when he does phone, then there is happiness. When the mother is able to feel the warmth of children’s love even when then they are in different counties or vice versa.
Though there is darkness there is light of hope. And that hope is the real happiness.
Success
Be more faithful than being successful. I do not see a difference in these words because when one is faithful he or she will be successful. And the real success comes when one does real justice to his or her duty. And one can hope only for success when one does justice to duty. But we don’t see this in out time. Or else time. Because of the unknown ability of human beings in understanding the will of God. And that’s the problem of Evil. We do not have a real answer to the problem of evil.
And a married can be a succeeded life or not when the particular couple dies. Because that the moment of real evaluation. And we can say about it by seeing the life of the children of particular couple. And how much they had given each other themselves. And how much they had given time and energy for their children. And until unless all such things do not happen then what is success. And I believe that’s what Fr. Dehon gave idea to his children. The people who are dedicated to the Heart of Christ. Weather they ordained priests or not they all are called “ Priests of the Sacred Heart”. Because they all are dedicated to God in the Priesthood of Jesus. Jesus who was not ordained rather He was Priests in His dedication and doing to the will of His Father. And one becomes only ‘Priest of the Sacred Heart’ only at the end of his life. Only we can evaluate the person’s self-giving to his people- brothers and sisters-. And when one understands that the real success comes by giving and then our world will find real SUCCESS.
I would be very happy if our world understands such thing of happiness and success. Because that’s we the people of 21st century lacks in our time. Where there competition and un satisfaction and all kinds of killing and wars and violence and such things. Where people are always busy without knowing what they are searching for or what is that is needed in their life. I remember one writer saying that only four things are needed for a happy life.
1. A book(s) for reading
2. An open window
3. A hand full of rice
4. A loving hand to hold and say that I love him or her.
Yes that’s it only by giving that we gain. Only when I am ready to share with you my sorrows that get decreased or when I share my joy then they increase. So what is that success which is lacking in our life.
Let us all hold the hands to do die to one another. St. Francis of Assisi and many others could pray in that way.
And last the words of Our Lord Jesus only by dying that new plant are born. If my world could have understood what all this meant.
